Need Help Picking Sconce's
I've fallen in love and I'm going to mount this light above my kitchen/dining table and then possibly the smaller square style, above the eating ledge. My main area is open concept so the fixtures can be seen throughout the living, dining, kitchen. I will be replacing 4 sconces. 2 flank the fireplace and 2 flank the picture window on a different wall. All will be visible no matter where you are in this open area. Do I need to try to match the sconces to the one in the pic? I've tried to find more to the 'set' but I'm not having any luck searching online. I really like the barn style that is so popular. If I do the barn style for the 4 sconces, should I then do the barn style for the small pendants? And have only this one pendant above the table? Thoughts?
I see now, that the picture is of the smaller square version but the link directs to the rectangular.

5 years agoNo they do not need to match, but rather carry the theme, you may not even need to match the ones on the fireplace to the ones on the wall. but it would be helpful to see the space. also, pictures would help us with scale.

And this pic shows the 2 scones that flank the windows. Notice the tv on the left. The new curtains will be positioned further outside the windows which means that the sconce electrical box won't be centered between the curtain and the wall. Not sure what do do about that...

Can I start with a few thoughts:
they are "faux" curtains as is but moving them further out I do not think will be a good look. you do curtains do not use the faux rod and do not move them out further. If you do I would make sure to actually cover the sconce outlets, remove the sconces and put blanks/covers over them and paint them the wall color.
I also would not chop up your kitchen space with pendants, they would end up acting more like heat lamps overhead and really divide the space up. IMO. Instead, buy all new trim rings and LED par bulbs ( inside those cans there is a wing nut that raises the socket I would move the socket up a bit so the bulbs can sit more flush)
