There are hundreds of reviews -- including duplicates -- of the LG Sidekick (HD, BB) and pedestals (HD).

The sidekick is great and we use it often, mostly for workout clothes and intimates. I was able to buy it under warranty in the open-box/returns area for less than the regular pedestal drawer. The dosage is 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid detergent per load. Cons are bending down to load/unload/add detergent and leaving it open to air dry after use. I've used it at the same time as the regular washer is running and so far both have worked very well. Installed October 2020.

Jennifer, if you are accustomed to washing in cold water dog towels, car washing towels, and cleaning rags, have at it. The sidekick is horrible at getting much of any warm water in it because it uses so little water. There is no hot setting. My advice is to save all those towels for Allergene or Sanitary cycles and allocate loads that can be done in cold water or lukewarm water in the sidekick.
