I am guessing you don't watch TV in that room since I don't see one. Is the cat scratch tower staying in there? It takes up a lot of room. I think the couch has to stay on one wall. I would put a shallow table under the window with a chair. That window is so low. Not sure if you can find a table to fit there. The window will fade a chair with no window treatments, but a chair is cheaper/easier to replace/recover than a couch. I wonder if you can find an enclosed table that can double as a cat's play space? I have seen end tables that are actual kennels. Hey, I just invented something...cats love hiding in dark spaces. Maybe someone can build it for you with scratching posts inside and a hidey hole for the cat.

Thanks for commenting- the room isn’t set up like it usually is because the furniture all just got moved around for painting. Uploading this post was having technical issues and there is another proper post that shows a layout how it is usually set up. I couldn’t figure out how to delete this post to avoid this confusion.

It was weird-
It kept telling me “couldn’t upload” and the. All of a sudden there are Multiple posts and on the process I screwed up the photo uploads and now it’s a big mush mash and I look/feel like an idiot hahah anyways- you’ll see another similar post but it had a photo of a sketch of the “current setup” I don’t mind the current setup but would like to get away from the sectional if possible. It is the main family room (although there is a nice basement rec room) and I’d like it to be functional yet appear more Spacious as I’ll likely be selling soon.

Are you putting curtains or blinds on that window? It faces the street/front yard? I just saw a glass entry door, so maybe this room is at the back of the house?

I am not sure I would buy new furniture since you will be selling. I wonder if you could rent or borrow what you need for the space. Just until you sell it.

The desk matches the dining table, but the coffee table and wood/glass cabinet look a lot darker. I would move the darker wood cabinet somewhere else since it is a little crowded there. Very few people have L shaped sectionals so they can probably visualize their own furniture placement in the room.

I just noticed that the living room area is wider than the dining area. You might try posting a picture of that hidden corner between the desk and the shortest part of the couch. Hopefully, a pro will find this post soon.

Thanks for the chat! Yeah it is weird. I should’ve taken some photos while the furniture was completely moved out to give a better idea of the blank slate. And too bad this post got screwy and doesn’t show the proper pictures I thought I was posting
