The stone facade, along with the shed dormer and slight curve on the multi-peaked roof, make me think Craftsman.

What year was it built? What original interior features still exist? Those should tell you a lot.

1984. Interior is very... 1980’s. Grooved wood trim. Lots of wood everything. Mirrored wet bar, wood post “pass through” from dining area. Flat hollow core doors throughout. 🤷‍♀️

The major features are the color of the stone walls and the large low flared eave overhangs.

It would help a lot to know where its located. Is it in a subdivision of similar houses in the Southwest?

It makes me think of Texas Hill Country houses although I wouldn't know one if I tripped over it.

Often houses arent purebred, but more like mongrels, or mutts .... incorporating features from various styles of the day. I dont think theres much more to say about your house except that it was designed as a 1980s version of the ranch with the multiple rooflines like they really got into in the 80s-90s-00s.

I think what youre asking, and what would be useful in order to keep your updates harmonious (THANK YOU!!!!) is to study up on the evolution of the ranch house including prairie style which would be the ancestor of the postwar ranch houses which became popular from 1940s on into the present. The low slung roof, broad overhangs, strong horizontal lines, natural materials - thats what defines prairie style, and the ranch house, and what you want to adhere to in any revamping of the interior or exterior.

BTW although the craftsman does share some similarities to prairie style (ie low slung roof, natural materials) I would not start tacking on craftsman details indiscriminately or try to make your classic ranch into a craftsman. Craftsman came from an earlier era and was a reaction against victoriana, while prairie style more modern (Frank Lloyd Wright being the most famous proponent).
