Ironing is best done with an ironing board and any top you put there will need to be rovaeable if you need to have service or to turn off the water . I think a simple wood counter the same as the floor color would work for folding and also be light enough to move and then paint the wallls some fun color or add wallpaper you really do not need a backspalsh in a laundry room behind W/Ds

Thanks for the good advice, I didn't want to use the same colour as the floor I think it will make the place too dark.

As there is very little color in the room, I would use some bright color that you like a lot. For me it would be red.

Butcher block countertop in a dark or complementary stain, laminate? Peel and stick wallpaper above or travel poster or fun pop art.
