We are completely remodeling a 100 year old house. There are 9' ceilings on the main floor. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all open concept. In the kitchen I will have an 8' island and will use pendants and in the dining room a chandelier. For the rest of the lighting I'm considering flushmounts near the corners (out 3') of the living room and kitchen. Would this look alright? I can't use potlights as the joists are 2x4 and too shallow to fit the potlights.
