It's been my experience that prices on vintage upholstered furniture are very regional. Larger cities, higher prices. Part of the reluctance of people to buy it is that this is a very expensive piece to have reupholstered due to the tufted back and size.

In my market (central North Carolina) you'd be lucky to get $100 for it but I've seen them in large metropolitan areas being sold for more than that for sure. Throw in the cat, priceless! 😍

I shop OfferUp and Craigslist quite a bit. Yes, I’m in the suburbs of a big city. I’d try $250. If it doesn’t sell, relist for less.

You can try Craigslist and see if there are any takers.

To be frank, your sofa is probably going to be a difficult sell. While it might be vintage and a high quality piece, it is not of a style that is currently in vogue and it will cost a lot of money to have it reupholstered. I remodeled and had a Josef Hoffman mohair velvet set in perfect condition and couldn't find a taker. I gave it away to my neighbor.

@Helen, I feel your pain. I had a wonderful Art Deco chair that didn't fit after I remodeled. I hung on to it for two years, trying to sell it and finally posted it yesterday on Craigslist for free. Within hours a wonderful woman grabbed it. She loves it and has already sent me pictures of it in her wonderful home. I'm so happy it went to someone who loves it. Better than getting a few bucks for it.
