Lighting Design Dilemma Kitchens

Pendant Lighting Help!

Currently have a 7’ island with 3 pendants which are all 9” diameter. I am upgrading my lights and what I have chosen are 12” diameter. Question is should I still do 3 or because they are larger should I do 2? Also for over the sink should I purchase a 12” pendant to match those on the island or scale back to a 9” (which is currently is). For reference I have included a picture of my kitchen and a picture of the new 12” pendants

That size will work but make sure they are hung at the correct height

IMO your selection for pendants is the wrong finish for your room. They just fade away into the room.

Hi Beverly, Great info! Per your schematic, would you do 30“-36” for the pendant over the sink as well?

Over the sink 36" - 40" above.

I would do 3, but not above the sink. You have a lot of rods coming down from the ceiling, and the one above your sink takes away from your beautiful window. I would convert that into a can in stead.

I would not hang one back over the sink, I think its much cleaner to have a recessed light there, and a bit less busy. Also, are you keeping the chandelier?
