I think it could look lively. You could add some detailing, artwork or shelving. You could also paint in a slightly different color to give it some distinction from your regular kitchen cabinets. As for your kitchen layout, might suggest to change the location of your refrigerator and range.

IMO storage is a must no matter what and I like it it serves its purpose for sure and add a huge piece of art above it and you are done. I agree I don’t like tall pieces in a DR or shelving .I would however try to find a spot for the wine fridge in the kitchen and I agree the range it too clse to the patio door and the fridge is always nice to have close to the DRand to the outside.

I think it needs some uppers. Like the first picture modpod shows. I’d also add wallpaper there.

I love the look and practicality of built-ins and I don’t think you need uppers, particularly since you said you wanted to free up wall space. In our home we have a lot of art, so wall space is at a premium. as long as you decorate that space I think you can balance the built-ins. Personally, I prefer built-ins paints the same color as the walls over the trim color, because I also think that helps to unify the space, but it’s a not a look for everyone.

LOVE IT! With a huge fabulous piece of art and some staging of plants, tray, and lighting, it will be the show stopper of your entire home.

We were really limited with range location options given budget constraints among other things. But I’m ok with it. :)

I only take issue with the proposed design in that the cabinetry and drawers are all the same size. Most of the inspo pics incorporate a mix of cabinetry sizes and/or drawers.

I think the concept is great, but I’d discuss with designer how to break it up with open shelving and drawers. Consider a contrasting counter, adding pot lights, etc. It’s important that it doesn’t just feel like a long line of storage cabinets.

A wall of cabs could look dated and garagey.....Maureen has a nice idea...Also what about a larger island...longer and wider? .....that could be very nice and you seem to have other wall space that is shorter... that you might be able to utilize

first where is the before and after photos, next what materials were used and then what are the room dimensions......you can't expect us to love your stuff when you don't give us enough information......many have certificates few have common sense design sense...don't do it because it's " different"
