I wanted to check on the roots of my baby monstera deliciosa so I pulled it out of the pot and the center of the root ball seemed to be a bit too wet still. I pulled it apart as much as possible to let it drain in there better. And it was really tightly compacted. Sure enough there were a few of the tiny roots that were getting mushy. 99.9% of the roots, and all of the big one, are healthy and growing well. Do I really need to go through the whole process of new soil, sterilizing pot, fungicide, etc or will removing those few be enough? I did actually replace the soil with a very chunky mix to help get some more air to the roots because the stuff it came in was too heavy imo. I just don't want to go though all that again. My monsteras get rot so easy. I know I wasn't overwatering.
