I just refinished an old deck and I ran into a bit of a problem. I stripped and sanded all the old stain off, cleaned it with deck cleaner & brightener and then sealed with semi-transparent stain and sealer from Olympic.

after the stain dried I now see there are several areas that are still dirty and need to be cleaned again. I mostly ran into this problem as the deck is far away from a running water source, so I used scrub brushes and buckets of water. I guess not enough though :)

my question is, what are my options here? Can I brighten over the new stain and reapply stain? Or are there any cleaners I can use and preserve the stain. Trying not to start again from scratch. Thank you
