The tv would make more sense over the shorter dresser, either where it is now, if you prefer to the side of the bed, or both (tv and short dresser) moved to where the mirror is on that wall at the foot of the bed. Not sure if that wider dresser would fit where the tall one is, but I think the TV is too large for that particular wall.

Lets start with either no area rug or something much larger. also do not pull those curtains back like that rather expand them to fool the eye and create more plush feel. Add a lighter-colored bench to the end of the bed to soften up the hard frame. you have a Mediterranian feel here.

I think you could replace the table lamp beside the sofa with a floor lamp or a wood tripod floor lamp.
