Help identify pipe in master closet

Our house was built in 1910. Inside the master closet there is a random pipe that has been closed off. Id like to try to identify what it is. Directly behind the wall is the bathroom. I have looked into the utility door which lets me see right behind this wall and I cannot see a connection for the pipe going into the bathroom. Under the closet on the first floor is a dining room. I thought maybe it could have to do with our radiators but the radiators are visible in each room.

Could the pipe be the old water line to a high-mounted toilet flush tank?

Its possible I suppose. But that would mean the layout of the bathroom would have been different. Unless there was a toilet in the room?

This looks like a plumbing vent that was capped off below the roof.

Is this closet in what had previously been an attic space?

Thanks Jake, no its not in an attic space, in fact this house only has a crawl space (no attic). The closet is in a 2nd floor master bedroom. It is possible that the pipe was taller and reached into the crawl space at some point I guess. There was never any access in this close to the crawl space or roof, but in one of the other rooms there was a hatch to the roof inside the closet....
