Can someone please help identify what is happening with the soapstone backsplash I just had installed?! The slab was all lighter grey. Once installed and treated with something (I assume acetone because I saw a can of it) it now has these dark splotches. I thought they would dry, but they aren’t going away and feel slightly rough to the touch. Is this fixable?! I’ll obviously contact the fabricator on Monday but I was hoping to be armed with information before making the call. I’m trying not to freak out.
