I like the rug. It looks like you have room for a small, round pedestal entry table under your pendant. You can then lower your pendant over the table and add a dramatic vase and floral arrangement.

Huh? You had 3 people that like your rug and one maroon and one maybe maroon. A Persian will set you back somewhere around $4,000 to $7,000 or more. It's not worth putting a rug that nice by the front door for people to wipe their feet on.

I like this tan or beige rug over a maroon rug unless the rest of your decor and furniture are heavily traditional. With this neutral rug, there is a good chance your house could go more transitional or take on a lighter palette. I caught a glimpse of a contemporary chair in one of the rooms.

That is true too bellesum regarding a neutral palette. And those chairs are being trashed! They are modern and destroyed. They worked in our contemporary coop bug are trying to be more traditional with our new house.

Paint your ceilings, it's 1/4 of a room and
finishes the room. Especially if you have any moulding - they disappear into the ceiling.
