Why No Calcium Sulphate for Humans?

Magnesium sulphate (i.e., epsom salt) - in low doses - has value for human consumption, both as a source for magnesium as well as a source for sulphate. Sulphate is a critical input to a liver detoxification process known as sulfation, which targets detoxification of certain types of drugs like NSAIDs. Why is it that calcium sulphate - which is sold widely for plant applications - is never sold for human consumption? It seems like a parallel situation to magnesium sulphate. Both calcium and sulphate would have value for humans, in appropriate doses.

Just to state the obvious, I am never going to take any chemical meant for plants as a supplement for humans. The plant-targeted chemical might be loaded with heavy metals or other contaminants. But in the case of magnesium sulphate there are food-grade and pharma-grade products for human consumption. Those products do not seem to exist for calcium sulphate, at least not in retail channels. All the many calcium sulphate products on Amazon appear to be targeted to plant use.
