need help to chose the right flooring!

Hi!
I want to replace my old parquet floor with wood flooring. The space is an open floor to my kitchen, but 3 stairs below. The stairs are made of red oak. I need to have them sand, teinted and varnished.

I have a Really hard time choosing the right shade for my floor due to my kitchen cabinet color. The kitchen island has a Green undertone which makes everything i look at in terms of red oak look to orangey. Is it possible to put white oak and have the red oak stairs match???

I have though of going grey but Im afraid it will be too much grey.

Any ideas?

First off, you only have 3 steps. So it might just be easier to buy new treads. Something to think about.

I wouldn't do a gray wood floor. Just wouldn't.

I don't think the floor you have in the kitchen now is a problem. You really don't see it from the lower level. So you don't have to change it, unless you just want to.

Of the two you show in the kitchen, the lighter one on the right would be better for the lower level. It really doesn't work in the kitchen though.

You really don't have to make the floors match, the two rooms feel very separate so like above said, you don't have the change floor in the kitchen unless you want to.

The parquet doesn’t bother me. I think you just need to go much browner. Darker.

Thank you all! Just to be clear, im not changing the tiles but the parquet that is 3 stairs below. Since its an open floor im concernés that the greenish undertone in my kitchen cabinets will clash with red oak. Im wondering what color of stain would Work well.

I think something closer to these. Obviously you need to sample. Because they will look different in every space and on every screen. After I found these I noticed your table. It’ll work very nicely with something Similar to the tabletop.

Since the new floor won't be next to the cabinets, I wouldn't worry about any clash.
