Art is the answer and only you can choose that. Pleas paint thos white columns on that island they are all wrong.

Is the back of the island white? Is that a drywalled pony wall, but then they used cabinet color corbels? I would also do art.

Yes, I'm not sure why they put that drywall on the opposite sides of islands, it definitely is going to get beat up. You could maybe add a treatment to it like

What about a buffet cabinet or sideboard buffet to ground a grouping of art above. More storage is always welcome and it could be a server for gatherings. Or perhaps a vintage or interesting China cabinet that could be used as a coffee bar or wine bar , as well as extra display / storage.

First paint the white on island either charcoal or black. How about a big world map framed in dark color of island on the blank wall?
