Help needed! Design for kitchen/diner/living area

Hi creative designers - please help. I am about to do a sidereturn extension on a ground floor Victorian conversion flat with garden. I've attached floor plan and also my idea for layout but I'm sure there're other options - can you help.

Originally I went with an inline kitchen down the entire side, but on reflection I think that a shorter kitchen will give more living space and I can then fit 2 sofas opposite each other.

I also need to have a boiler in the kitchen with external exhaust. Soil pipe etc is in the light well.

On the plans it shows a big bathroom window which I am making much smaller to allow for the separate shower and also a door into the lightwell - I'm not having a door - maybe a window.

At the front of the property will be 2 bedrooms which is why I need living space in the new area.

.

Excited to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

The space is essentially 4.4m x4.4m with a 1m x 1.6m alcove - I can either have that with a window onto the light well or block it off.

Do I have a corner sink unit and where would I would I put a fridge freezer ( ideally I'd like a stacked fridge freezer) - I was thinking of putting it in the alcove area, but as it would be 700 wide what do I put in the corner (corner sink?).

There'll be 2 velux in the side return area and sliding doors onto the garden.
