many plants put out aerial roots .. ignore them if you want ... doesnt mean anything is wrong ... and it might mean its rather happy .. doing its thing, if you will ...

whether you propagate or not is up to you ... if you want to down size.. do so.. and then get rid of the old hulk ... or not ...

its kind of a random decision for a random guy ...

Many thanks. I was thinking to try to lower it down instead of the current elongated shape it has but I don't have any experience so I rather let the plant be as it wishes.

google images of the plant .. using the latin.. and compare it to yours.. and then figure out how to do it better ... presuming yours doenst look as bad ..

many things will not releaf down a stem or trunk ... if they could.. one might think it already would have.. eh???

so if you want t fuller plant lower.. make some vigorous new plants .. and grow them better ...

oh.. and dont put new cuttings into a giant pot .... grow the pot with the plant ...

the ultimate suggestion. would be to root a few pieces.. and then cut the old one way back.. and observe ... you know.. back in the day.. most of us didnt have the WWW to do this stuff ... we just got a hate on for a plant .. and when that peaked.. we just went at it with a machete ... and planted what we cut off.. and found out what happens.. no fear.. mostly because of the hate .. lol ... and then it was so easy.. it was loved again ...

just do whatever you want.. its not like this is some million dollar plant.. and the only one on the face of the earth ..
