1960's 12 Foot Diving Pool Conversion to Shallow Play Pool

I am in Southern California and we have a 12 foot diving pool that we want made to be around 5 feet at the deepest part. Does anyone have this same scenario? Could you give a ballpark figure that it might cost to have this done? I have no idea how much to budget and am just trying to figure that out before I start getting quotes. It is a gunite pool. We might also have a spa put into part of the pool too but more concerned about the depth.

Has anyone had this done to their pool?

Why not get the quotes. Probably cheaper to fill in and start OVER.

5 feet of depth would not necessarily be considered a shallow play pool. Something like the Sedona or Canyon Lake from San Juan with a maximum depth of 3'6" would be more of a petite pool, and both of those can be installed partially or completely above ground even though they are fiberglass. A professional install even for a petite pool will run you at least $50K and probably more considering you have an existing shell to fill and otherwise manage during the completion. With 2022 inflation and demand for pools at a high, installers in your area may be charging more.
