I'm getting ready to do some repairs to the cedar siding on my house and repaint. I'm looking for color scheme suggestions and any suggestions to upgrade the look of the house. We are planning to remove all the shrubs in front and start over on the landscaping too. I want to re-do the posts on the front "porch" with something more substantial. The "porch" is not wide enough to put furniture or be useful beyond being a covered walkway, but I don't know if there is a way to extend it since it is part of the garage roof. Husband wants to put some rock façade on the front on the front of garage and under the front windows. Possibly a metal roof. He also wants to do a flagstone patio extending out from the front out to where the large shrub is. I'm not sure about this since it seems like a lot of expense for an area that I'm not sure we will use.
