How can I harvest pieces of culinary ginger rhizomes without damaging the plant? I have a ginger plant in my garden that comes back every summer. I don't want to dig it up to harvest the rhizomes, but instead I'd like to harvest pieces as needed for cooking, while allowing the plant to continue growing.
