Kitchen color ideas

I just closed on this home last week, and I LOVE bright and bold color, so you can see my dilemma here for this dull kitchen...I do not care for the light blue walls at all, so I was hoping to get some ideas on what i could do to liven this room up?

I think maybe a lighter white floor tile, and a bright backsplash for the wall counter, and if its in your budget, add skylights or more windows might brighten it up. I think the wall color should stay, and maybe change the tile on the bar counter. Maybe add a wood accent somewhere would be great. Just make sure everything is bright and light colored

I'd have fun with the grid work and go Mondrian. See photos.

Grey and tan are nice neutral backgrounds with maybe a silver (glass tile or metal) backsplash and highlight the room with splashes of citrus...Ergo: Lime, Orange, Aqua, you can easily change out the accent colors and change them much cheaper than redoing the paint and backsplash year to year (or every few years). Definitely update the cabinet hardware.

Completely rebuild the bar. Maybe some of the same tiles for backsplash too.
Paint a bold color around those cute cabinets.
Maybe leave out some doors and add colorful deco.
Or paint the lower cainets and use a pastel wall color.
Or keep it mostly white, stainless appliances and wood(tile floor).
So many ways to revive this kitchen!

Hi Keli....I would like to suggest some changes that I feel would make a big difference in your kitchen. If
at all possible I would put French doors where the single door is now, which will give you additional light. The
existing light fixture, would be replaced with trac lights. The single cabinet next to the entrance should be
removed. I would leave the floor and change the counter top and the hardware on the cabinets. The walls I
would paint BM Williamsburg Wythe Blue, and the Cabinets and trim BM White Dove, that includes the ceiling.
When you choose a paint color, then a decision can be made on the countertop. If there is room in your budget
I would suggest the appliances be change to Stainless Steel, the reason for this is that cabinet white and appliance white are so different. The breakfast bar I would cover with bead board for the sides painted in WD
The top I would do in glass tiles, to work with the wall color, The cabinet in wood should be painted white. I can't tell the purpose of the cabinet facing into the kitchen, and it those were unimportant pieces, I would take all that out. The tile floor is cut badly where it meets the wood, it would help to have a picture of the adjoining room.

Find an inspiration, try two great runners for work zones along cabinetry, round table with some rattan or jute chairs and an impactful ceiling fixture, from that point a color palette will surface....with this combo I'm thinking a sand color for the walls
Have fun with it, good luck!

I don't know. This kitchen appears to be assembled from low-end components: the postform countertops, the flooring, the box-on-wall cabinets, the appliances, the light fixture. Was this a flip?

To improve this kitchen, you need to take any two of the above components and radically improve them. (this will not be achieved with paint). A great countertop and floor, or new cabinets and countertop, or new flooring and lighting.

Tear out the bar, and replace it with a long country table and chairs.

Since you just closed on the home I expect a complete tear out will not happen for a while. I agree the blue needs to go. I always suggest to my clients they consider food colors like sage green, peach, or pumpkin. If budget allows you may want to tile the back splash.

If you can afford it now--pull out the tile and put in hardwood floors--huge improvement! Repaint the walls a color you love and paint the cabinets and trim Ben Moore White Dove.
