I think an urn placed in the dirt would look odd and temporary. It would look great on the deck, though. Keep in mind that ferns are typically shade-loving plants.

A little fountain there needs electricity. Got that? I do see some sort of light or electric cover on the brick wall. Pools of water in warm climates and warm summers grow slime quickly. Do you want another pool to keep clean?

Size matters. Measure that bed then consider mature size of whatever you plant. Did you dislike the Sago or had it overgrown the bed?

I'm not sure of the dimensions of the bed you have but it looks like it may be big enough for one of our garden fountains.

I did this mock-up using our Esplanade Fountain and some white azalea bushes to give you an idea of how to incorporate both the greenery and a water feature together.

We also have a two-tier version of this fountain and it can come in several other colors to better complement your home and the greenery you decide on.

I also included some gravel to go around the greenery and as a foundation for the fountain.
