IMO the best view is achieved with dark color solar shades I use either charcoal or bronze at 10% there is no reason for lighter ones as far as heat is concerned . IMO the best combo is solar shades and drapes the shades give you light and heat control daytime privacy and the drapes take care of night time privacy I would never mix with cellular shades.

@patricia I can’t do drapes because of my layout, I need the space on the sides. So I am limited to options that roll up and away.

If you are doing outside mount on white colored walls, do you go for a dark/same colored valance/fascia or would you go for a lighter colored one so it’s not as distracting when rolled up ?
