Feature wall ideas

Looking for design ideas for a feature wall to warm up all white (on purpose) open dining/living room. Everything is white with light grey hardwood floors. The first two pics are the dinette where we want to add a feature wall. The third pic is the other side of the room. Is there a way in Houzz to add colour or paint to a pic?

Thank you very much! How did you put colour on the wall in pics in Houzz? I'm new here....

The paint changes were done with MS Paint.

I would maybe do a faux grass/ boxwood wall. I personally don’t like paint colors as accent walls. But that’s my personal take... :)

Just butting in that I like Beverly's wonderful no. 3 - with chrome pieces.

and 5 because doesn't seem too 'busy' for a cool, sophisticated look....?

The alcove in your dining area would be a great place for a really oversized piece of art. Would suggest something bold and perhaps vibrant. Then again, it could be a somewhat subdued piece that has color, texture and pattern.

I doubt there's room for a shelf or console, but with ceiling cans on the outer edges of dining, what about a simple lamp or two?

Much gold in open area, I'd bring warm of wood or this on minimal shelf - and that complements art ... or blends into wallpaper.

This has a glow for nighttime.

I was mostly interested in ideas for the alcove but I'm intrigued by the various design looks that have been offered. I love the gold and black lamp. What type of table would you suggest if it's positioned on the right of the couch?

You don't come up with a solution for your niche without taking into consideration the total room. You don't just select a color out of thin air.

Here are examples of how other niches have been addressed.

Empty space next to the kitchen needs a piece of furniture

I looked at some of your saved ideabooks -- do you like neutrals, and textures? there are textured wallpapers that could be painted, and painted later .. ?

Do you have a floor plan? I have a feeling your pieces could be moved around for a better layout?

You have excellent light coming in so I think adding some plants or greenery would look amazing! There are tons of faux panel options for moss walls online. Various wall planters with faux or real plants could become a bold art installation. Or if you have the green thumb and the patience, try your hand at creating a true vertical garden or living wall. Sharing inspiration similar to your layout

Sadly, not a green thumb. The three plants in the empty space next to the kitchen are all that we can handle right now. We do not have a floor plan and have tried the few possibilities that don't block the patio door or the fireplace. The pics might make the space appear wider than it is. Here is one type of design that we like, although it does nothing to warm up the space.

Here are some wallpaper choices = instant graphic interest:) not sure if the large egyptian art has any significance or must stay, just guessing based on its color...

In general, in your art, is there anything you'd like to draw out: a color, a shape, a representation to repeat in special wallpaper, stencil, etc... would you like to post photo of the art ?

Could even place whatever gold metallic or champagne, autumn-soft gold that would work well with chrome set... and place a couple items or simple shapes on canvas.

Possibly echo your art's fullness of gold?

Is this is better than a pattern? Distressed more fitting with casual area.

Everdebz, that would look great, especially the design with both gold and silver. Thank you so much.

Place wallpaper samples placed at the art, for a real look, how you think and feel about them together [and around the room]. Though on opposite walls, it might work better with thorough searches.

A pro would know if, and how a contemporary paper could 'blend in'... maybe you want charcoal rattan table...and eclectic look... ?

Have you thought of a different floor plan? Could you put the table next to the kitchen where the window/ stairs are and then move the sofa to face the fireplace and add a chair, coffee table and rug?

Thank you for the options. We have tried all those floor plan scenarios and they either don't fit at all or block a decent pathway.
