Tree form evergreen shrubs for privacy above fencline?

Two suggestions from the local nursery are purple hopseed or red tip photinia

The patio area I would like to protect from the neighbor’s view down into my patio is about 24 feet long.

I don’t want a shrub that blocks my access and view of the fence. I want the majority of foilage to start at about the fence level of 6 feet.

How do these two compare for the intended purpose?

How many would I need to plant so they provide a privacy wall above the fence at maturity without being so close together that they have issues with roots strangling each other or else need frequent trimming?
