I have a HOT MESS on my hands, HELP!
So we just bought a house in Florida and have a LOT of work to do!! Pardon the poor pics but Im in another state and this is all I have to work with, currently.
The house sits East (front)/West (rear), when considering paint color and LRV. The metal roof is low pitched so it shows as a cool tone white metal. The (boring) white frame windows (hurricane grade) will not be replaced and my husband is not really onboard with allowing me to remove the storm door to allow for a FUN, colorful or Stained wood door.
It is hard to tell, but under the porch-the full length of that back wall- is half wall of smooth brick which has been painted. The house is currently a washed out, cool toned light gray/with slightly darker gray window ledge.
We assume we have a lot of stucco repair due to all the misc pieces the previous owner drilled into it, hoping the BLOCK underneath has not been compromised. The house is BLOCK but the detached garage is wood.
Garage: although I dont want to concentrate too much on that here other than to coordinate it with the front house, we do plan to build/use the 3rd garage (are with door) as a guest suite and will eventually be cutting out that cement and adding a cute porch area. (the entire backyard is 3rd phase of landscaping) Like I said, we have a LOT to do!!
NOTE: ALL...ALL...I repeat, ALL that crazy rock, metal sculpture, random plants, pergola on driveway, wrought iron railing around porch, etc will be removed and professional landscaping will be put in. We are only keeping the Mango and the 2 small lime trees that are on the far left of property, and will be relocating the Plumeria's that are on the far right. We may even remove the red/orange pavers if need be (house color), changing color or using different material.
ANY and ALL ideas are welcomed!
Edit: I wasn't sure which topic to put this under as there isnt a topic choice for "Exterior" I have it under Design Dilemmas, Paint, and something else (cant remember) I hope Im at least near one of the targets.

5 years agoI can’t really tell if shutters would work on the house/. But you could do similar colors. Why not paint the door even w the storm door? Or can you paint the storm
Door the same color? I can’t tell. Also to replace the iron porch w wood like this. I think there are steps up to the door?

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoWhat a great house! Good idea to hire a professional landscaper to plan native landscaping. Since there's such a lot of driveway, you'll want to powerwash it and house to get rid of mossiness. If you still have areas where driveway is spotted, then get it skim coated.
Pull together an Ideabook of coastal landscaping to see what the possibilities might be. If this is a second home, then large areas of low-maintenance hardscaping are the way to go. Current photo shows multiple kinds of surfaces. A landscaper will show you how to tie all of it together. Also, do you need two entryways? If so, then a circular driveway makes more sense than having two that don't connect.

white stucco and accent w/the french gray, or a similar taupe/grayish tone would get you this
white w/black trim and a bright door is a classic combo
