Mechanical closet in bedroom

Help needed!
There’s a mechanical closet inside my bedroom (which is pretty normal in the city I live i). I have few concerns with the way it was built.
- Tape around the compressor unit
- No caulk or seal around the walls
- Vent inside the closet itself
- Regular door installed
Should I hire a HVAC contractor to improve this? What can I do by myself to make this better? Thanks!
