It is a contact killer. Either spray the ones you see or drench the soil for the ones hiding under the surface.

So no pouring over the entire leafed out plant which is what I was envisioning. Sounds like best / easiest to pour around just as pips coming up. But if contact killer only sounds like my current plan with bait might be easier. I rarely see slugs on the plants except when digging In soil & find some. I know they’re out there as I do see a few shiny trails on the pavers in the morning so I add bait to the beds at the end of a trail.

Ever since I heard about this method from Ken to solve my slug eaten hostas, I have been DRENCHING my hostas 2x a year. What a difference it makes! The only plant I may have affected is my Brunnera. I may have fried a couple of leaves, so I am careful around it. Certain hostas are more proven to the damage from slugs. My experience is the Tiaras and thinner leaf hostas are prone. Ok! I get it now. I just happen to have both vinegar & ammonia as well as an unused pump tank. I’ve been using bait year round plus the squish when found method year round so I’m happy to add another weapon to my arsenal! Thanks very much all of you
