Looking for a specific drip irrigation part

I have a 1+ acre yard with an extensive drip irrigation system that I repair/revise/expand all the time. What I've found is that the 1/4" line that I run the drippers off of tends to lose its plasticity after sitting out for a couple of years, so when I cut into it to change it, it's hard to force a new barbed fitting into it. A couple of years ago I found a an irrigations parts place online that carried fittings for 1/4" tubing that had a slightly smaller diameter and didn't require all the force and cussing I usually employed to get them seated.

Unfortunately, I've about run out of the tees I ordered, and can't find the invoice to identify where I got them. After a fruitless search online, I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has a source for the fitting I want. Here is a photo:

The part on the left is the standard barbed tee that you can get anywhere parts are sold, and the one on the right is what I am looking for. Thanks for any leads.

Good point...it's just that I'd prefer to not also carry a heating device around with me when working on the system...if I can simply find the type of fitting I prefer. But I might try it in a pinch.

Lee Valley (Canada) has many drip irrigation components. Perhaps they could help. Hope you find what you’re looking for. I have always found this company to be wonderful to deal with and they carry the neatest products.

I found two brands that seem to be the same Chinese part being marketed differently: Kalolary and lasenersm. The lasenersm listing is a four-way connector, but you can link from the brand to a splitter.

If you think these are fun to put on, try taking old tubing off on of those fittings. I ended up having to buy micropliers and microsnips to cut them length wise around the fitting.

westes- I saw those lasenersm ones when I was doing my Internet search and couldn't figure out if they were a smaller diameter, but I will check into it. As far as saving old fittings, I use a a razor knife and make 4 careful cuts from the area of the barb toward the fitting. If I do it just right, the tubing can be pulled off and the fitting is unscathed.

I accidentally chopped one of my irrigation lines with a shovel a couple weeks ago. I ordered new fittings online to splice the split line back together.. it’s 1/2” so that doesn’t help you, but... when I received the new fitting, it would not go into the line - same barbed ends like yours. Force and cussing didn’t help As you have found out. so I got my grill lighter and heated the end of the tube a bit... and the fitting went right in. maybe It will work for the smaller line also?? Apply heat and attach new fitting. Might be worth a try.

Thanks. I did look at hose and they seem to have the standard size barb, rather than the skinnier one I am looking for. But they do have good prices!

People like these Raindrip 312050B couplings which have angled connectors that may make it easier to push them into the pipe.
