That looks decidedly like a marble to me. Granite tends not to have those wave patters, nor the white space.

Thank you, the last slab yard I went to told me that it was a marble, but a "hard marble". It surely looks like a sedimentary rock with all of the waves/layers. Granite is igneous, usually coarsely granular. I thought of putting it in my kitchen because it is so beautiful, yet I need to think of resale value of my home at my age. I would not be able to explain this stone without a geology degree,lol.

Hello, Fantasy Brown is a dolomite; which is a hard marble. It is more resistant to etching than the traditional marbles. However, it can etch if acidic substances (lemons, limes), come into contact with the surface and it's not wiped up right away. As far as the dolomites go, we have less problems with the Fantasy Brown than with other dolomites, and we do sell quite a bit of it for good reason, because it's such a beautiful stone.

Personally, as a Millennial home buyer, I’m either looking for quality renovations with good/unique and well matched materials, something well made or super bland that I can edit to fit my own look, or a house I’m going to fully gut and renovate. What I mean is - do you and worry a little less about resale (we are likely to change it anyway).
