Fungal Disease Autumn Blaze?

I noticed some of the leaves all over my my Autumn Blaze maple are turning brown/black and curling/puckering at the edges. I have been watering my grass frequently (overseeding) and fear I have caused a fungal disease. Not sure if this is relevant, but the tree also suffers from gall mites every summer. Has anyone experienced this with their maple? Is it just aesthetic or is my tree doomed? :(
