Can I place Microwave Drawer below wall oven ? any vent issues ?

Previous owners messed up the wall oven placement & Model. Now we dont have room to place a built-in microwave on top(just 12 inches available).

I am thinking about making the hole taller, and moving the wall oven towards top and put a micrwave drawer at bottom. wall oven should go up just enough to accommodate the microwave below.

Will I face any issue with heat & Venting from wall oven ? Especially will the heat affect the microwave drawer below ?

Need Advice from you awesome pros

drjoann55 I know this thread is older but I’m about to put my new drawer under a wall oven. It seems so low, but cabinets are done. Can you post a photo? Ty!

How about this instead:
1. Leave the wall oven where it is.
2. Procure the low-profile (10-5/16" high) Whirlpool WML35011KS oven. This oven is designed to hang over a range so heat from the wall oven below it should not affect it.
3. Bump out the rear of the cavity to the required depth to support the rear of the microwave.
4. Install the microwave by attaching it to the rear of the cavity and the upper cabinet.
5. Use a piece of perforated metal, painted white, to fill the gap between the two ovens (the microwave fan pulls air from below so you cannot use a solid filler piece).

I've had a wall oven above my Sharp microwave drawer for the past 10 years and absolutely love it. Both are 24" wide. Never had an issue with venting. My husband refuses to live without a microwave drawer, now (and he only uses it to reheat coffee or warm up BBQ, so go figure). I'm 5'2" so the combo puts the oven at the right height for me and the drawer means we don't have to bend down far to use it.

I think I may do the same bc I cant seem to fins a matching microwave in the same width as the wall oven - unless it is a drawer microwave. If you did do this, let me know how it worked outt for you.

You didn't specify the width of your wall oven but if it's 30", the Whirlpool WMT50011KS might work and is only 14" high so it wouldn't be so close to the floor.

Page 3 of the Sharp microwave drawer installation manual shows that the oven ~18" ( = 34.5 - 0.5 - 15-/7/8 ) from the floor when mounted under a counter.

Page 4 of the Sharp single wall oven installation manual shows the wall oven cutout 32" from the floor. The bottom of a microwave drawer mounted under the wall oven would be only ~14.5" ( 32 - 1.5 - 15-7/8* ) from the floor.
