Hi Kim! My advice would be to paint the door trim the same white color that is on the exterior of the home that is not the brick color. Because you have the black trim along the gutters and it’s such a large feature that you’re seeing I think that is plenty black trim. I would also suggest adding lighting to that alcove if there is none already.

Thanks! My first reaction when seeing it was it should be white. The rest of the trim is black so that’s why they painted it that color. Yes, there is lighting above the door. I just don’t think it was on when my husband took the picture.

I vote for White around the door.
