Help with window replacement questions…Please

We are getting ready to replace the windows in our sunroom. Right now there are five 48 x 60 vinyl sliders and one fixed 48 x 60. We are actually pretty lost as to where to start - we would like fiberglass casement windows, but can’t seem to find a lot of consensus on brand, costs, etc. We were looking at the Pella Impervia and our contractor quoted us around $9,000 for six casements. We have no idea if this is a reasonable price…literally no idea. We are not dead set on Pella, so any opinions or recommendations on the Pella or other brands woukd definitely be appreciated, as well. Thanks!

Where are you located (many window manufacturers are regional, location affects price as well)

What are your goals for the project? Performance, maintenance, value, appearance, etc...

What type of installation? Pocket, full frame, somewhere in between?

    Product options?

At first glance the price doesn't sound crazy for that window, but there are large swings depending on options and install details. There aren't many scenarios where that product would be on my list of recommendations, but based on your answers to the questions above you can probably get better feedback on other options that fit what you are looking for.

Sorry for the delay responding, I've been out of town with some unplanned family issues.

We are in the Greenville, SC area.

We are looking for low maintenance and energy savings - the sunroom get's really hot right now, and we're hoping better windows and a better sliding door will help with some of that. We don't have to have the most beautiful windows ever, but I'd like something a little better than the basic white vinyl sliders we have now. We like a more modern contemporary look, but most of the ones I see in that category are wood, and we really do want something low maintenance.

As far as the installation, the outside frames are all going to have to be replaced due to moisture damage, but the interior frames are fine.

We are having a hard time finding product options because we know so little. We are also considering the Andersen A-Series Casements and the Marvin Essential Casement, but we have no idea on the pricing of these - are they in the same range as the Pella Impervia or much higher?

And of course, my husband wants to spend less than the 9K. We would consider vinyl if we could get the same energy efficiency and longevity of the window - I'm willing to sacrifice some in the looks category if it's a huge cost savings.

One other thing - our contractor's first estimate was about $4,500. After we asked him about the Pellas the estimate went to $9,000. He said his first estimate was for windows made by Moss Supply out of Charlotte, NC. I can't seem to find much about them quality/appearance wise online. Is anyone familiar with them?

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!
