Hi, We recently moved into a 1927 home and we're in the process of a kitchen renovation. When we removed the cabinets, we found a kick plate heater underneath them that we didn't know was there. It would be great if it worked because the kitchen has no radiator or space for one to be added. However, no matter what we try we can't get it to turn on. I included pictures of the unit which has an on/off switch on it. I also included pictures of a fan switch on the wall that seems to be attached to it (we always thought it was for an old kitchen vent fan that didn't exist anymore!), and a valve in the basement that seems to be attached to the pipes coming from the unit. The wiring goes to our circuit box- and the switch for power is in the on position (all switches are on- so it's not that it's just been mislabeled). We have no experience with one of these- nor does our contractor doing the kitchen, although he said it appears to be in great shape. He suggested calling a plumber- but I'm wondering if we call a plumber or an electrician because the issue seems to be power. I'm just wondering if anyone out there knows this unit and has an easy solution that I'm missing? Could there just be a switch somewhere I haven't seen? Before I pay a plumber/electrican to come out and look at it, I figured this was worth a shot. Thanks!
