Potting Monstera Babies on a timeline- please help!

Both of these monsteras were propagated a year ago and are still in nursery baskets. (I did this during quarantine and am still trying to learn what they need). I read they like to be root bound and the smaller one has grown really well. However, I noticed the smallest leaf is not growing and is slightly yellow on the tips. I read this could be telling it needs more space. The larger plant seems healthy, but slow to produce a new leaf. So should I properly repot them and if so, what size pot? And is it ok to put them both together in one pot? One is a little younger, I don’t know if that matters. They will be indoors, in a very sunny room.

Another dilemma- I travel for work sometimes weeks at a time. I will have just a few days to repot these guys and then will be gone for 6 weeks. I have a friend who can water them (taking it to his house). But how should I instruct him to water?

I can also wait to repot them for another 6 weeks; but, I feel like they may do better with repotting. I know this will be stressful on the plant and worried about them. What are y’all’s’ thoughts? I’m so appreciative of any advice and thank you for reading this!

i would repot when i got back.. so i would be responsible for aftercare ... with all good intentions.. we most often hear about friends screwing it all up .. lol...

you should be able to tip them out of the pot.. to look at the roots.. and that should be a clear indication of if and when potting is needed ..

the usual thought is to go up one pot size.. each time.. and do it as often as the roots show you it need be done .... you realy shouldnt have to be guessing ....

and dont forget.. the most important thing in a pot.. is the media.. not the plant.. investing in a good media ALWAYS pays off .. and then learning hwo to properly water that media is the trick ... and having the same media in all yoru houseplants makes it all easier ...

giving the plants to a friend to water while you are gone is one thing.. giving an extremely stressed repotted plant is a whole other level of begging a favor ... if something happens.. who gets the blame.. you for the repotting.. or losing a friend because you blame them ...

@ ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5 I had to copy and paste your comment here- it showed up on my email notification, but not here for some reason. I never received the orginial response, have no idea what went wrong!!! I'm sorry you spent some time replying, especially since I didnt get to see it!! Is there any way you could give me the short answer - should I repot them or leave as is??

I'm home for the next 4 days and have to make a decision soon and totally lost of what to do. Any advice you can throw in my direction is so helpful!! Thank you :))
