When we had to replace the floors in our house due to a water leak I fell in love with an oil finished floor, but after learning like you did what I would need to do to maintain them I passed. I don't want to be spending that much time on keeping the floors looking nice. I've also find in our next house I want floors with a satin finish like our old ones did. I went with a matte finish which looks similar to the oil finished floors and find they don't wipe as quickly or easily as my old floors. Seems I've got to put more muscle into them when using Bona to wipe clean. The good part about the matte is any tiny spills shows clearly though so easy to notice to wipe up.

What brand of flooring did you go with?

The tradeoff to an ”easily repaired” finish is that is is not very durable at all compared to a traditional AO or poly, , and requires considerably more maintenance.
