If you want to but it's not necessary.

Generally I'll fully remove the lowest 3-4 suckers, sometimes they try to grow back but by then they are mostly shaded by the top of the plant. Later on as tomatoes start to set I'll semi-sucker the upper suckers (just pinching off the blossom portion). This allows the semi-suckers to grow enough which allows them to shade the nearby tomatoes from sunscald.

Some people remove Tomato suckers, some don't. I belong to the second group and never remove them.
