Sounds good, but note that if you need a filler next to the wall, it’ll intrude on your required space around the toilet.

I can relate! Keep in mind that if the cabinet hinges are on the wall side you’ll need a little space for the door to open. Might look less stuffed to go with a smaller cabinet. We have a 30” vanity in our main bath and will go to 27” in our remodel to add a few inches to the shower.

5x8 is still considered "the standard" for a hall bath. Yes, it's snug. Suggest you invest in a custom vanity. Make the offset sink cavity as small as possible with a full-width drawer below it (deep enough to hold rolls of TP...and a ton of other things) and a stack of drawers to one side. Your plumber and cabinet maker will understand these terms.

Code is 15" from center toilet to any wall or obstruction....and a bit more is far better.

Converting tub to shower is always an issue. Called glass and elbows. The real "standing space in a 30 x 60 tub? About 21 wide by 40. Every inch counts : ) in a 5 x 8. Making a 36 inch shower usually........difficult.

A 30” vanity is an adequate size. Much better than a 24” or pedestal.

Since you're moving the toilet due to code, don't forget code for the sink. The center of the sink has to be a minimum of 15" from any side obstruction, so if the vanity is against the wall the sink will not be centered unless the cabinet is at least 30" wide. If you use a narrower vanity, the sink will need to be offset to keep the center 15" from the wall.

Cyndi, no pics yet, we are in our GC’s line to start by Feb 2022 (!). Catbuilder, does that 15” setback mean that a 27” vanity w/ a centered sink would have to be at least 2” from the wall?
