I think that would look very nice. But it’s a big project.
I’m also not seeing the entire house. But from what I see it seems more modern. Adding a porch will add a bit of craftsman style. And you may need to tweak some other things. I think it could work nicely but
I’m hesitant.

I think I would leave the planter. And create a porch along the entire front but lower down than the planter. Meaning the planter box now serves as a “railing”
Am I making any sense?

I kinda like the idea of having the porch meet the sidewalk and then add landscape beyond the sidewalk. You can then using living plants for a 'privacy screen.'
