What a surprise! 18 years later....

Back in 2003 I planted a Shizophragma hydrangeoides 'Moonlight'. It never died out but never grew much and never flowered. This afternoon I woke up from a nap on the loveseat in our home office, with my head facing the window. I thought 'What is that hydrangea-looking flower on the fence?!' Yep - it was the missing 'Moonlight'!

I did some checking and apparently this thing can get to 35' tall and live for 70 years! I think some pruning and training will be in order if it continues to grow!
