Wow that is a BIG surprise!! I know for some it can take many years to bloom...but 18 is crazy!

Mine took 5 years I believe...then bloomed very lightly for 2, and this year looks like I’ll finally get a decent bloom. It doesnt help I’m sure, that I planted it in a make-shift bed tucked into a shady corner (I’m trying to train it to go up and over my garage).

I hope we get many more years if lovely blooms : )

I regularly considered digging it out - but i liked the leaves and digging it out never made it to the top of my priority list :-) Garden Ho - it'll be interesting to see what this one does next year! It is planted in a narrow, shady spot along a fence and under the canopy of the red oak. It used to be also under the canopy of the neighbour's ash tree - which they removed yesrs ago! I chose it because it was supposedto grow well in shade....
