Container Gardening Growing Tomatoes Garden

when to fertilizer tomatoes

growing tomatoes and are doing great. was going to fertilize with fish emulsion and was not sure how much to pour around each plant. would 1 gal. be enough around each plant? I also fertilize with each week with miraclegrow tomatoe fertilizer. plants are starting develop produce small tomatoes .

If you are already using the MG weekly, then there is no need to use any additional fertilizer.

Fish emulsion isn't really a good choice for tomatoes unless you want big bushy dark green plants and less tomatoes. Its Nitrogen rich and together with the MG product product the high nitrogen levels will produce a lot of vegetation and few tomatoes. Go with Gardengals recommendation.

Fish emulsion is rather low in nitrogen. Usually 4-1-1 or 5-1-1 compared to MG Tomato food 18-18-21.
