Very cool! They are fantastic. Ours is showing a slight crack and I am wondering whether I could source a replacement if I ever needed to. They crank out some good heat and are quite striking looking.

I just missed an orange one on FB marketplace. I'm also seeking manufacturer info.

I want one of the Malm fireplaces for our rental cottage in the worst way but I don't trust renters to know how to use it.

Looks similar to a Jotol and maybe an early version of one? There is a Jotol plant that makes them in Maine still.

If it is made of steel or cast iron it could slways be welded. I have welded a few cast iron stoves. Not easy, but not hard either.

Wow, what a flashback! I grew up with one of these ceramic fireplaces; my parents installed it in 1969 in our house in a suburb of Boston. If I recall correctly, the maker was a guy named Jake May. Beautiful piece. Enjoy!

A real expert on these is Bob Stefko, a photographer located in Chicago. This is what he sent me a few years back when I posted here: "The Company was called (Strawberry Bank Firepots) and was in Little Compton RI. Early on the company was called (Strawberry Bank Craftsman) so you will find both names used. The company changed hands 3 times from the late 1950’s into the 1980’s. The company went out of business in the 1980’s."

Wow, excellent information! I'm from Little Compton and have stumbled on one of these with some fairly decent cracks. I'd love to know if anyone has information or insight on the likelihood it could be repaired?
