I am not sure what you are having issues with this is a cream background quartz and you need to go and see slabs in person you do not ever choose counters from pictures .IMO quartz is a poor choice for counters since plastic and heat really do not play well together. But if you insist on this then you know it can't go behind your range or cooktop so I would choose a simple tile in the same cream as the backgroung in the quartz which means you choose the counter and then when everything is installed you choose backspalsh. Make sure all your lighting is LED 4000K before doing that and also before choosing wall colors. Maybe while you are at a stone yard you might want to check out white granites, when they are polished they become almost bullet proof and then I would just do the granite for the backspalsh too

And I figured as much to go with a plain subway tile. But, I was wondering if a color that’s in the quartz or maybe a grout color would make it stand out more.

I think your choice of white for the cabinets is too stark. I would go creamier.

While shopping in showrooms, we saw something similar to your choice. Didn’t know what it was at the time. I think this will be the next wave of quartz.

I wouldn't want to go too dark with the backsplash, but you could probably find a medium gray or taupe that picks up a color from the quartz veining and gives nice contrast with the cabinets. You don't need to wait to pick, but you do need to see all your samples next to each other, and at the appropriate angles.

The pale dappled color in the lower-right of your counter sample looks like a good target. Lowes used to sell this tile called "Pearl," which would be worth considering -- I have no idea what is available these days...

Honestly, I don't like either of the quartz samples with the white cabinets. The veining in the countertop is very pronounced, making the counters the dominant. Instead of white, my choice would be painted brown cabinets.

I looked at both for these. Ultimately we went w a natural stone so that we could make the backsplash from the stone as well. But between these two i like the clovelly more. I would take a sample of the clovelly and the cabinet color to a tile store and ask them for advice. I know the person i worked with went to school for design. Then take the samples of tiles home as well and see it in your own kitchen light.

Not sure if this will help, the left is brittanica gold, the right is clovelly, they are sitting on cambria colton. This may help you compare background colors.

I’ve looked at natural, but couldn’t find the one!

We ended up w opus white quartzite. We got two book matched pieces (the two cuts that happen one right after the other). It definitely means more towards gray but it actually paired really well w all the gold/brass fixtures (we used a brizo litze lux gold faucet). We also looked at white fantasy. There were a ton of other great options but more expensive. If you haven’t already, I would suggest going to a stone yard and asking them to pull some slabs for you (unless your set on the Cambria). They had everything from man made to natural. After looking at samples, they lifted a bunch of full slabs before I found the actual slab I really liked. They marked it to save for us on the spot.

This is a sample of the stone paired w our floors, cabinets and delta gold….it looks better w the brizo. We also ended up w top knobs for handles but the emtek colors also paired well w the stone (just weren’t as close to the brizo)

Looks beautiful! Had friends over for a party yesterday and everyone loved the Brittanica gold vs the Clovelly.
I did find a beautiful backsplash and using a light gold grout. Now rethinking it all again😌

Hmm I can’t recall on the price difference but overall not a huge increase for my project. It depends on the stone you pick. I remember thinking the britannica gold seemed a little like it was leaning towards brown in person. Do you have samples of both or just a photo of the gold? If you don’t, cambria will mail them to you.

Yes, I have samples, yes the Brittanica seems more creamy and the Clovelly seems much lighter.
I second guess myself when 4 friends said oh I like the Brittanica better. Oh well, I’ll stew for another week till I figure it out.

If I went with Clovelly I was going to do a cream backsplash with a light goldish grout.
I think I’m going towards the Brittanica gold now. But will use the same colored backsplash and grout

The deep lines of the Clovelly have the gold and copper accents. But it's not overwhelming. I started with Brittanica gold until I went to the cambria warehouse and saw the Clovelly slab. I definitely need to go subtle backsplash as I want the counters to be the highlight. I love your tile with the Brittanica. It's going to be beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting- there are many valid reasons why people shop online. I have a neurological illness and it is very difficult for me to visit showrooms. I would much rather use the internet, samples, and catalogs to narrow down my choices and then finalize them in a showroom where I have made an appointment. You have a valid point about lighting and seeing things in your own room but some things, like a vanity I asked about here one time, are the same in any light and I am happy to shop for them online. Quartz or quartzite is not appropriate for a backsplash behind a stove, but is a valid choice for many people for counters. It is not porous and does not require the cleaning and sealing that must be done yearly with granite, which again would be difficult with my health issues.

Also Clovelly is one of my final 2 choices of counter to go with our brown cabinets, what color did everyone end up using for a backsplash?

I was just about to purchase Cloverelly fir our kitchen coumters and walls but it has a purple ting to it I didn't notice until designed pointed it out. Now I see it. I am so upset as I was three weeks away from measurements. Delegates is boring to me and nothing else excites me like Cloverellu did. So sad and confused now.

I also almost went went Clovelly. But the black pepper spots in it changed my mind.
