Best brand for interior door knobs??

I’m looking for quality interior door knobs. I love the look of Emtek and I had assumed they would be a good quality knob based on the price point… my contractor and wood man both said that Emtek have given them the most problems(need to be replaced, hard to fix, and in general don’t hold up well). The lesser expensive knobs(they say give them less trouble) look cheap. What is a great brand of interior door knobs that look and perform well?

I specify emtek for clients all the time and my last two homes have been emtek. No issues. They are finicky to install (you have to read the instructions) but are great and beautiful. The high end Baldwin stuff is nice too (not the off the shelf big box line)

I have been reading all kinds of blogs on best interior door knobs. Emtek had good and bad reviews. Locksmiths like Schlage as they hold up the best and are easy to install. I can’t seem to find ones I really like except the Emtek and I am leary about buying Emtek. Can anyone recommend their brand of door knob and please include pictures❣️I am desperate (haha) to get rid of my gold construction grade doorknobs that are 30 years old and scratched❣️

You sort of need to look at the individual hardware -- sometimes the same manufacturer makes both sharp, solid knobs and cheap, chintzy ones.

I recently installed Emtek on 5 interior doors and I find them both substantial in feeling and beautiful to look at. I chose egg knobs and they feel great, too.

We had all our exterior door hardware replaced with Emtek levers about nine years ago. The mechanics of them have been good, and they feel nice and substantial. But we got the oil-rubbed bronze finish and I didn't realize that it's a living finish. The finish is rubbing off, which I guess it's supposed to do. We're about to do an interior remodel and will use black Emtek knobs everywhere. Do you have a showroom nearby where you can go see and feel things in person?

We've had black Emtek for 17 years, only 2 (locking ones) have gone bad out of so many...and they are used a lot by a family of 6!
