If anything, the interest in plants and gardening has increased over the last couple of years, But postings have fallen off all across Houzz/GardenWeb. Part of it is due to the constant glitches and awkwardness this website presents....longtime members just have become fed up with it and have departed. But there are also other, more mindless sites to access that draw many - Facebook, YouTube, various phone apps that give the user the impression they know more than they actually do, assorted inane blogs, etc. It's hard to find a decent platform to ask the questions asked here or to get advice on various gardening issues.

The other explanation is that joining Houzz now and asking gardening questions does not offer new members the full scope of what's available forum-wise. All those GW forums remain obscured unless one is already familiar with the website navigation or somehow stumble upon a real gardening forum when doing a Google search. Otherwise it is the default Landscape Design, Design Dilemma or garden forums. Nothing else shows up.

Hmm, I rarely browse or post anywhere but the Northwest Forum. I just took a look at the Perennial forum and there is lots of activity. Guess I'll broaden my horizons. :o)
