Pick your favorite grout color please :)

I've narrowed it down to these two:

- The one on the right feels like a great match for the countertop (Customs Platinum)

- The one on the left feels like a great match for the tiles (Mapei Rain)

Is there a rule of thumb here?

I'll go with a thin grout, maybe 1/8" and am aiming for a low/medium contrast look. Enough to see a distinction in the tiles, but still subtle.

I seem incapable of making any more decisions. Please swoop in and save the day.

Maple rain really takes on the blue. The other seems to tone the tile down and is a good bridge between the two. It really depends on what you want.

Thanks a lot @Amy k. I was thinking those exact things, but this is my first rodeo and I don't really know if I even know what I want. It seems like selecting a bridging color might make sense, but then again, you see a lot more tile to grout vs. tile to grout to countertop, so I was leaning towards Maipei Rain. Are there any design guidelines in this scenario?

On my monitor they look the same - grey. Bad monitor . Have you considered an alabaster to match the counter. This is Brittanica .

Beautiful kitchen @Memphis Forrest You have good taste! :)

Is alabaster the grout you have here? I have an alabaster sample stick. I'll check it out again.

These selections of mine are both grey, one a cooler grey and the other a warmer one. My aim is a softer contrast to your picture.

Thank you for that really thoughtful response @herbflavor!!! You clearly understand my vision and helped articulate everything I needed to hear.

Does a 1/8" grout line feel appropriate or should I go 1/16"? @Memphis Forrest do you recall what you used in your kitchen?

What is the color stick standing up against the tile on the right hand side of your photo? Is that too light?

Grout dimensions are ususlly provided by the tile producer. tile is glass??? follow the tile instructions provided and get an experienced installer. Its a different choice as opposed to glazed ceramic tile.

@User that stick standing upright is Mapei rain, the same color as the sample stick laying flat on the left :) Funny what tricks light plays on our eyes!

@herbflavor you are right! I wouldn't have thought to look. It said 1/8" so there we have it!! Yes, the tile is glass. I found a certified tiler so fingers crossed that certification comes with quality. I got a good vibe from him!

I came across this picture and am thinking (hoping) this is the look I'll get with thinly grouted Mapei rain

Did you use Mapei rain? How blue is it? I have grey tile and the rain looks like it will match but I’m worried it will look too blue . Thanks!

Rachel L, what did you finally go with, how did it turn out...and can you share a pic? I'd love to see. I was looking at Mapei Rain yesterday, considering it for my application.
